Intermediate Course for Professional Groomers (Class B Certificate course)

The course is designed for those who are aspired to become a professional dog groomer. It will provide advanced dog
grooming training for participants.ο
To maintain programme quality, this course is only offered to those who have attended the Basic Course. They can
only enroll in the Intermediate Course three months after they obtain the Basic Course certificate.
Upon successful and satisfactory completion of the course and its written and practical examinations, participants will
be awarded the Certificate for Professional Groomers (Intermediate) by the Gaite Workshop. To obtain professional
recognition, they also need to sit for the public examination organized by the HKKC so as to obtain the Class B
Certificate awarded by the association.ο
The Curriculum
About dogs
Common health problems of dogs and basic solutions (including contagious diseases, parasites, skin and eye diseases)
First-aid for pets
Pet nutrition
Grooming practice
Advances scissoring techniques (angles, proportions and how to hide defective parts)
Doing a lamb clip (clip that requires leaving fur on for two months; completing the clipping within 2 hours according to FCI requirement)
Clipping of 2 other breeds (demonstration and practice)
